Carpets for Oval Terraces and Flats
The streets around the Oval cricket ground and Oval station are a mix of Victorian terraces, converted flats and purpose built blocks. In a house, the stairs need a hard wearing carpet. In a flat, carpet on a good underlay keeps noise down for the neighbours.
- Hard wearing carpets: Abingdon Stainfree Maximus and Lano Scala Marathon
- Wool carpets: Westex Fine Twist and Hugh Mackay Swaledale
- Stair runners: see our stair runners
Lease Rules in Converted Flats
If you live above another flat, check your lease for flooring rules. Many ask for carpet, or for an acoustic underlay under any hard floor. Bring that part of your lease when you visit and we will help you meet it.
Our guide to vinyl, laminate or wood flooring explains noise and underlay in flats.
Hard Floors for Kitchens and Living Rooms
See vinyl for a water resistant wood look, engineered wood from V4 Flooring, or laminate from Xylo.
