Carpet fibres
The fibre decides how a carpet feels, how it wears and how easy it is to clean. Wool is the classic natural choice; man made fibres such as polypropylene and nylon are tough and easy to look after.

Questions
Questions about flooring materials
Anything else you would like to know? Call the showroom or send us a message.
Which carpet material is the most hard wearing?
Nylon and polypropylene are the toughest man made fibres, and wool is the most hard wearing natural fibre. For stairs and hallways, a dense pile matters as much as the fibre.
What is the best carpet material for a home with pets?
Polypropylene is usually the most practical, because it resists stains and is easy to clean. Choose a cut pile rather than a loop pile, as claws can snag loops.
Which flooring is best for a kitchen or bathroom?
Vinyl is the usual choice because it is water resistant and easy to clean. Sisal and other plant fibres should be kept away from water.
Can I see the materials before I order?
Yes. Visit our showroom at 58 Battersea Park Road to see and feel each material. We are open Mon to Fri 9am to 6pm, Sat 10am to 4pm.
